Nice to know that he is trying to get all the people involved in LOTR back that would appear in the film. ALso that trying to use all the same people that worked behing the seens will add a nice continuity to the films as well.

I get excited every time I read something about Del Toro and the Hobbit. He reminds me why I love Tolkien’s writings.
It’s great that WETA is on-board. That’ll keep some continuity between the Hobbit and LotR.
I’m also glad that he’s trying to get most of the same cast to come back. However, I don’t know if Ian Holm would be the best choice for Bilbo. I think he sould do what PJ did, and find some new talent. Especially since Bilbo is younger in this story.

    Mr. Toro,

do you have an imagination how long will be both movies? I hope there will be director’s cut on DVD, but what we can expect in cinemas?

    Thank you and good luck!

Yes it would be great if everyone could come back for ‘The Hobbit’. It would be extra special of they can get hold of the behind the scenes people too, as after all they are what makes everything tick. Im sure it wont hurt the New Zealand economy much either!

I think Ian Holm will probably be a little frail (isn’t he about 74?) to reprize Bilbo. I think Martin Freeman would look just right for Bilbo. But other than that if everyone else could make it I would be very happy (I had no complaints for the original casting)
    .
I think however I am going to have great trouble waiting until the films come out…………I may well pop with over excitment in the meantime.
(You’d have thought I might have grown out of that by now as I’m in my late 30’s……but I feel just as excited as a kid at Christmas)
I hope Orlando especially will be able to come back as Legolas……….I have a soft spot for that Elf! And for Sean Austin (Sam) too.

Yay! I am so happy that he is trying to get the original cast! I’d been hoping he would! And I’m SO glad that Ian and Andy are going to be in it! There is no better Gandalf, or Gollum!

The news are good!!! I’m happy for that Guillermo del Toro will follow the spirit of the Peter Jackson’s Lord Of The Rings Trilogy. And the participation of Sir Ian Mac Kellen and Andy Serkis!!! I can’t wait!!!
