Peter Jackson to Get Star on Hollywood Walk of Fame

The Hollywood Reporter posts that Oscar-winning New Zealand filmmaker Peter Jackson is set to be honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Dec. 8. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce announced the award on Monday. Jackson’s star set to be placed outside the Dolby Theatre, the venue for the Academy Awards.

A number of stars who have appeared in Jackson’s two Tolkien trilogies, The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit, will be in attendance, including Andy Serkis as guest speaker, as well as Orlando Bloom, Evangeline Lilly, Lee Pace, Luke Evans, Richard Armitage and Elijah Wood.

The Hobbit: The Battle of The Five Armies Soundtrack

WaterTower Music will release of the soundtrack to The Hobbit: The Battle Of The Five Armies, with music composed by Academy Award® winner Howard Shore and an original song performed by Billy Boyd, who starred as Peregrin Took in The Lord Of The Rings Trilogy, on December 9th. The soundtrack will be released in two configurations: a standard 2 CD set and a Special Edition set, also with 2 CDs, and featuring extended tracks, bonus tracks, and expanded liner notes, which will be available on December 16.
