  2. Arlekin says:

Thank you Mr Peter Jackson, and the whole crew and cast, for make my dreams come true

  3. I’d like to give my own thanks to you guys. Hey Pete, remember how you mentioned in the behind the scenes of LOTR that you hoped your films would help inspire the next generation of movie makers? Well mission accomplished!!! I watched the LOTR for the
first time when I was four years old, and they are still my favorite movies today now including The Hobbit). I already decided years ago I wanted to involve myself in script writing, film editing, acting, and maybe even directing, all because I watched the behind the scenes of the Middle Earth films and knew that I wanted to have as much fun as you guys did. I know it won’t be an easy climb to reach my goals, and that it’s not all fun and games, but I know it will be worth it. Remember that it was you guys who cleared the runway for me.

    THANK YOU!!!

    • That’s the same with me ;D

      • Exactly the same for me. And I have to mention the music too. Howard Shore is just wonderful ! He knows perfectly well how to create the perfect music for the films ! But more generally, it’s the whole films, cast and crew who gave me this dream to work in the film editing, directing, script, etc…

        • Amen to that. There is not a single person involved in The Hobbit and LOTR who doesn’t have talent. They are all a great group of people.

  4. leticia says:

OMG thank you guys so much for creating the hobbit (all 3) and a BIG thanks to Peter Jackson and the cast and crew for making the whole thing come to life thank you. To the cast thank you You have all inspired me into acting myself so one day I hope to be as good as you. To the crew I thank you for you have inspired me and showed me a way to make impossible things and to Peter Jackson the BIGGEST thank you of all because with out your imagination and ingenuity this film would not have been as good.

P:S do you know were I can get tickets to the première thank you

  5. Maria I says:

Thank you Peter Jackson and team for giving us Middle Earth. I began with watching The Lord of the Ring Trilogy so many years ago and will end it next year when The final Hobbit film is released. I don’t know how to fully express just how much your films mean to me but know that they have a special place in my heart. You have made me realize that there is no age limit on imagination. For everything A million Thanks.

  6. Oh I need to say thanks too! 😀

THANKYOU Peter Jackson, the crew and actors for pulling this epic, amazing, action packed adventure together!! It’s an amazing story and my favrioute of all time trilogy! I can’t express enough how much I love it. Everything in it was great! The human story behind all the epicness which pulls on our heart strings is also amazing.
Bilbo and the characters were so amazingly chosen and smaug and bilbo will be great. In fact I can’t wait for the next two movies which I just know will be even more amazing!!! With mirkwood and smaug and Legolas and the spiders ect. You are my favrioute director of all time!!! Oh and I loved reading the final days of filming on face book!!! It made my weekend :3
THANKYOU so much to everyone who made it possible!!

  7. It has been magical watching these books come to life in a way that has amazed and astounded me to be able to say yes that is Gandalf or Aragon . For introducing me to the books..thanks so much!

  8. David Herrera says:

Thanks a lot to Mr Peter Jackson and all of the cast and Crew from The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit Films, all the happines that have come from those films is an irreplasable part of my life, and brigs me great memories and moments from my childhood, so Thank You a Lot for helping me travel to the middle earth in such a magnificent and beautiful way 🙂

  9. Whatever I say, it won’t be enough to thank all of those who contributed to the making of these films. I remember when the fellowship was playing in theaters in Cyprus, I was a student then :), I tried three times to find a ticket and gave up at some point thinking that it’s not worth. It will be a film like all the others, I thought. I managed to watch the Two Towers without watching the Fellowship of the Ring. Then I felt “I’ve never been so wrong in all my life. I never realised that a movie could enter my world and changed my life forever. I had to do with something unique”. The same feeling I had with the Return of the King and The Unexpected journey. Last week I read Beren and Luthien tale from the book of Silmarillion and a lot of tears came out from my eyes. Thank you Mr. Peter Jackson for helping me discovering this world. But also thank you Howard Shore for the sensational music. The Best movies and soundtrack ever. As I said.. what ever I say it won’t be enough to thank these people. I am so grateful.

Best Regards from the island of Cyprus.

    • Marios
we will have a questionnaire for Hobbit in December 2013 for Cyprus fans. Are yo interested in participating??

  10. KiliFili says:

Thx everyone involved with making these movies!!!!! BEST MOVIES EVERR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  11. Kristina Jäckel says:

When I first heard there is a film of LOTR I didn´t know that such book even exists – yeah please don´t hit me. But then my brother has taken me to the midnight premier of the Fellowship and it was like I had never ever seen a film befor. It was like this film was the first I ever saw. I´m a historyteacher and when I saw these films it was like I saw history live and not fantasy. And when the secon film came I did know that you, Mr Peter Jackson and all the other members of the crew, that you have wrote history. Your LOTR and The Hobbit are films that will watch people in 100 years and they will as fascinated and bewitched and moved as we all over the world today.

  12. yesterday there was official announcement of the The Hobbit An Unexpected Journey Extended Edition and even a video clip of the extendend edition why does this blog keep up.

  13. Welcome to geekdom folks. Heh heh heh!
    Naw, seriously.
Cheers Peter Jackson and crew for making these films. I think Tolkeen himself once said they were unfilmable and the original animation is testament to that but you folks in NZ have acheived the impossible, and beyond.
Keep up the good work. Can’t wait for the extended special editions.. Much love from “A Shire” (Gloucestershire)..

  14. Jackson has long cited several films as influences. It is a well known fact that Jackson has a passion for King Kong often citing it as his favorite film and also the film that inspired him early in his life, Jackson recalls attempting to remake King Kong when he was 12. At the 2009 San Diego Comic-Con International, while being interviewed alongside Avatar and Titanic director James Cameron, Jackson gave some further insight into his influences saying certain films gave him a “Kick”. He also cited the Martin Scorsese directed films Goodfellas and Casino as inspirational. I really love his personality. Thanks for sharing!

  15. Nimrodel says:

Thank you Mr. Jackson, Your Middle-Earth movies are my absolute favorite movies in the world. I watched them when I was ten, so I only had a two year break between the Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit, which is properly a good thing, as I would have died from anticipation otherwise. I also want to say thank you to everyone else for all the tremendous effort that they put into these films, especially the actors. Thank you so very much

  16. I would like to know how to go about writing by email, to send you some pictures of Elves suggestion for an upcoming movie? … “The Dynasty of the High Elves”

  17. I Looking forward Watch Film New The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug

  18. Please update blog and app. All my friends and I are eagerly awaiting another update.
Thank you so much for the films and experience.

  19. THANK YOU PETER JACKSON AND THE CAST AND CREW!!!!! I know I’ll love the movie forever!!!!!

  20. Yeah, great, thanks for all!!!

Great job with LOTR and great job with The Hobbit.

I think he should do a remake of The Neverending Story. I love this book, and the films… well…

  21. I’d like to ask for more elves! Love them!
And that no animals are killed in the movies, that was an absurd!

  22. Thank you Peter Jackson SOOOOOOO much!!:) i would have done a video but i wasnt able to! I am gonna be a movie director and i have made multiple movies already!! I am 15 and Lord of the Rings is my life. But i know that the movies could not have been made without you!! Your the BEST!! Thank you

  23. Thank you Peter Jackson, WETA and all the cast and crew of both LOTR and The Hobbit! Your hard work, unbounded creativity and talent are an inspiration for creatives everywhere. You are all amazing! Thank you all so much for making it fun to go to the movies.

  24. Thank you, thank you so much Peter Jackson, just loved the The Desolation of Smaug and yes, a big thanks to the whole casting team 🙂

  25. Concerned Hobbit says:

    Hey Hobbitblog Team!

Once again, I have to ask; “Whats going on with this blog?”

A new poster for “The Desolation of Smaug” is already out (portraying Bilbos reflection in Smaugs eye) and a new photo of the dwarfs tumble in the barrels is also published.

Anyhow, if you want to be the 1# place of Hobbit news, then I do believe you have to pick up the slack. There is far too little action on this blog. Last post was from the 27th of July?!

  26. fattie dorkins says:

    Thank you Peter Jackson.

But no thank you whoever decided to set the Japanese release date for “Desolation of Smaug” in March 2014.

    I am devastated.

  27. Thank you peter jackson for six wonderful movies 🙂 !!!!!!!!

  28. I just wanted to say, that the hard work and the inspiration you put into The Lord of the Rings Trilogy and now into The Hobbit is not only HUGE it is something that touches the heart! It makes me think. It makes me think that there is something else looming out there in the realm of creativity that you could step toward in the future. I do not think that when the Hobbit is finished, you should quit, or go on to “regular filming”. You are royalty and should be treated as such. I believe that there is another project, that not only you could accomplish, but could take on and make history AS YOU HAVE BEEN DOING. There is a grand lady that has written many, many novels that has left a legacy for many, many people around the world. Her writings have wowed the imagination and her stories have thrilled many millions of people for many years. The woman I speak of is Anne McCaffrey. The writings I speak of are “THE DRAGON RIDERS OF PERN” and all the books written on that subject, which are many. Todd McCaffrey is her grandson and the one that is carrying on her legacy. That is the one you should contact. He is the guardian of her life’s work. If you have never read her books, I guarantee you will be astounded at the world she has created. It goes far beyond “Avatar”, a fantastic film in it’s own right. JUST A THOUGHT.

  29. Thank you!
For making what is easily the best movies ever made.

    Thank you!
For not letting “Hollywood” destroy these masterpieces of film adaptation of these books.

    Thank you!
For your vision, and your passion, and the genius of your writers and crew to create these Epic movies

It doesn’t seem quite enough but with all my heart,
    Thank you !!

Words cannot descirbe my love for everyone who worked on these movies. I think that all fans can say is thank you. We really do mean it. I love you all!

  40. carlos bellmunt says:

    i have this app

  41. Greetings Peter and crew!

This may sound like something you’ve heard before but, I’ve never done this before…I have never been such a fan of anything in my life until I watched the Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit. And really, I only ever read The Hobbit. I found myself happy read it, and when TLoTR came to life on screen (bless Peter Jackson and EVERYONE who made it possible for others to see it) I was marveled. I still am. I may be in denial with this but, I think I’m more of a Hobbit fan. I should read the trilogy.

When I saw the first instalment of the Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey I was completely flabbergasted! So Amazed! The detail and love put into these films bring such a feeling that is so strong, I find myself unable to contain the glee that rolls off of my being. Everyone feels it, and I’m happy to report that they also respond happily!

I know it’s easy to look at only the actors and directors of great movies, but I have no idea how to thank them AND EVERYONE that helped do the make-up and design. I mean, all the sets and the time it took to make them! The concept art is delicious. I wish I could see more! All the hours put into the clothing and affects! The digital creatures and atmosphere! I’ve been re-watching the first part so many times already! Or the time it took to put the script together. All the things that had to be discarded or added. You were so brave! I went to see The Desolation of Smaug twice already and I am incredibly thankful and I appreciate how quickly Peter Jackson and the crew was able to release it in only a year! That’s ludicrously generous! I’m excited and scared to watch the last bit! I don’t want it to be over! I wish I could have been one to join Thorin’s Company. I would have fought with him until the end to get back what belonged to his people.

All I want to do is fanart now. I bought the first two books of An Unexpected Journey (Thank you Weta!) and I already ordered the red book, Desolation of Smaug through Chapters. I didn’t even know the book was available for purchase on their website right up until I decided to get my nerves together and type this message. Truthfully I already sent them nearly the same message, and then I found this site and then theonering site!! WOOHOO! Better Late than ever!

I have no idea if anyone has time to read this. I have no idea how the fan world works about in anything, and I feel incredibly embarrassed and yet elated with these feelings. To love something so wonderful as these movies, and appreciate all the hard work people have done, to come together to create (yes I’m a bit winded but much love!) Is stupendous.

I would like not only Peter Jackson to know, but also EVERYONE who worked on these movies just how much I appreciate what has been done.

I know it sounds weird, but really, I will carry these feelings for the rest of my life. I got to see, and will get to see the final installment. To have the privilege to watch these movies, and even those youtube videos is fantastic. To get to see what your team has put together over the years in such a treat. For those who are merely the viewers, and I am one, thank you.

There is so much more I want to type, but I’m already worried this is too much to read. I want to send fan art to you and to Peter and the actors. It’s another way for me to say THANK YOU SO MUCH!! This is so weird but so cool all these feelings! Your works are very much loved.

You and everyone who have worked on these movies, have stolen a piece of my heart. I will never try to reclaim it.

  42. Thank you so much Peter Jackson/ cast and crew for making these 6 excellent movies J. R. R. Tolkien would be so proud of these movie good work and thank you so much

  46. DEAR: Sir Peter Jackson

I would like to give thanks from all the fans out there as you have made 6 epic, fun films which have changed my life!
originally when I was younger I had no interest in very long films but after sitting down and watching ‘LOTR’ I had decided that this film as well as ‘The Hobbit’ will be my all time favourite films, thank you for being a great director, and for choosing the best actors which make the movie what they are!
My favourite films ‘The Hobbit’ as I love Martin Freeman and the role of Bilbo, which he plays amazingly! when the first Hobbit movie came out I watched it every night!

THANK YOU, for inspiring me to become the actress which I hope to be in years to come! And thank you to the crew who work very hard to make these outstanding 6 movies.

I understand if u do not read this so do not worry, I am a big fan and I would love to fly to New Zealand to see Middle-earth for myself! unfortunately I cannot which is why it would be so special if I would be one of those lucky 75 winners to fly to middle-earth, I know u don’t know how much of a fan I am from this message, but I am a BIG one! and have posters in my room with stickers on my window and a couple of action figures! Before I loved a big boy band and was mad about them but when the LOTR came out I took my posters down and put up The Hobbit and LOTR ones. :)Thanks!

  47. Alexander Flisak says:

But you proved me wrong. You did something not many are able to do.. You brouht magic to the world. Thank you Peter for bringing back the magic of my childhood! / johan of sweden

  49. Please Peter Jackson make a movie about the holy Bible old & new testermeant the hole bible please do it for the people that can’t read or spell well

  50. Mr. Jackson
I love all your movies. Please make a movie on the dark elf character Drizzt

  51. Love to see a film about how legolas meets strider and how that storyline blends into the film. And if you can’t get the right’s to
Tolkien it is obvious that who ever owns the rights are frightened of making the book better than Tolkien did.
