Oh my God! To think that we all have to wait two months and 3 days from now to get to watch the bloody film. Peter Jackson is absolutely awesome, and the hobbit films don’t look half as bad as some people are making it out to be. I just can’t wait for the film to come out. I have gone over the trailers so many times that i know all the words and scenes. DECEMBER THE 14TH IS GOING TO BE ONE HELL OF A DAY!

  8. The Imagineer says:

Oh my. To spread this little tale over 3 films. With Peter, Fran and Philipa. I’m so happy. I already like Thorin, Kili and Bilbo.

  11. Jill Cassidy says:

Dear Peter Jackson and all who have made this possible. Since I was a child and first saw the animated version of the Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings I never stopped hoping a live version would be done. I first read the books at age 10 Then once a year after that until my collection of books (I had hundreds) when missing when my family moved. Then I found copies of the books in my late twenties and have been reading them a couple times a year or more. I was so thrilled the the Fellowship of the Ring came out. Then The Two Towers and Return of the King. Once I saw them I said to myself I hope Peter Jackson does The Hobbit I having been waiting since I heard it was going to come to pass. I can’t wait for the release on December 14th! To you and all who have made this possible Thank-you form the bottom of my heart(I think in another life I was a Hobbit! I’m 4ft 10 and have always wanted to live in a hobbit hole. Create my own “Shire”. If only I have the means.) Best Wishes on opening day! Regards, Jill L Cassidy Middlebury VT

  12. High King Peter says:

Word can’t describe how is my feeling. πŸ™‚

Just want to say…. thank you Mr. Peter Jackson, you made LOTR movies, and now you bring The Hobbit to us, thanks! πŸ™‚

    • Thanks indeed! Thanks be to Peter Jackson, oh master of the RED cameras and the 48fps! May the “Director” afore your name never disappear! Thanks!

  13. LegolasPippin says:

The Hobbit Movie will be a thrill,
It’ll be awesome, I know it will!
No matter to me what anyone says,
On December 12 I will lay in my bed,
And dream of the wonders only hours to come
Oh, what I’ll feel once this movie is done!
To see the Hobbits in their holes,
Eating pies and cakes and rolls.
The Dwarves coming in and eating a lot,
And Bilbo becoming a burglar right on the spot.
The journey through mountains interrupted by Trolls,
And Bilbo wishing for his Hobbit hole.
On to Rivendell and encountering the elves,
and clearing all of the food from their shelves.
They run in into goblins and are taken underground,
And Bilbo is surprised at the Ring he has found.
On their journey goes, through spiders and barrels,
The people of Dale singing their names in carols.
They encounter a Dragon and get back their treasure,
But not without many a difficult measure.
Thorin now lays as cold as hard stone,
And the Dwarves feel awful, sad, and alone.
But they win the battle, and Bilbo goes home,
Back to little Frodo, whose quest still lies unknown…..
Thank you to Peter, Philipa, and Fran,
Yours truly, a big Hobbit fan πŸ™‚

THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR INCREDIBLE WORK! WE ARE ALL IN YOUR DEBT!!!

  21. Tim Bombadil says:

I await this release with bated breath! I have been a Tolkein lover since 1967 and I can’t get enough. Thank you Peter for your perseverance and vision. I have one concern that may be a misperception and not be based in fact but here goes. As I was watching the trailer I thought I saw Bilbo “fighting” Gollum with Sting, presumably after the contest of riddles. I haven’t read the Hobbit recently but I can’t remember that moment in the book! I should have checked my facts before hand but, alas, I did not. Anyway, I’m sure the movie will be amazing but there are essential facets of character instilled in Tolkein characters that should not be tampered with under any circumstances. There were moments in LOTR where I felt Aragorn, Faramir, and Theoden were diminished by their uncertainty. These men were steadfast and honor bound; decisive in their actions because they lived lives of honor. Aragorn NEVER denied his lineage or purpose; Faramir’ and Theoden, although at times conflicted, always acted with honor, as did Boromir. This is the essence of the Numenoreans of Elendil’s line and the Rhorrim. Sorry for my long winded post but these books have been part of my life for ages. “Don’t meddle in the affairs of wizards for they are subtle and quick to anger.”

  22. you are great!!! I absolutely love this book and this film!!!

  23. I love the hobbit I even painted shoes thorin and the hobbit it took me a while to skech and paint then on the shoes
