  3. Mikael Jansson says:

Oh I am so excited, I cannot wait to see the Desolation of Smaug. I realy enjoyed the extramaterial from the first Movie. Keep up the good work (I now you will).

Go Arzog GO! Would like to see more of Beorn Though, That´s a cool character.

  4. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!!!!!!! ONLY ONE WEEK UNTIL I SEE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SO EXCITED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  5. Luke Skywalker says:

Will Beorn be in the movie? If not, well… :(

    • He will be in it. Trailer one has a big bear, and there have been countless pictures and spy reports at theonering.net. I will warn you, though, with all due respect to Mr. Jackson, he missed the part of the book where it said that Beorn had bushy black hair. Great vlog, and I can’t wait till the movie.

  7. Sandra Leigh Rogers says:

I can’t wait to see this! I am a huge J.R.R. Tolkien fan & have read The Hobbit & The Lord of the Rings, & Peter Jackson & all the actors, FX staff, cameramen, greens staff, fiberglass crews, everyone, from wardrobe to weapons, sets, everyone is top-notch & the films are true to Tolkiens’ books!! I cannot say enough about how much PJ’s films embody the essence of what Tolkien writes to convey in his books. BRAVO Peter Jackson & full crew, actors, wardrobe, weapons, makeup, and all trades in making these stories come alive for all people, even those who never cracked the books Tolkien wrote!! I am very excited to see the latest installment of this awesome story!!!!!

  8. Why do we have to wait until february in Japan?
    What the ecke!!!

    love you guys.

  9. Finally!! 3 days left untill we can actually watch the whole thing. Bought the fastest ticket just right now. Sending love from South Korea!

  10. The 13th can’t come any faster!!! I have a huge appreciation for all of the hard work the cast and crew puts into these films. As an illustrator and aspiring animator I am astounded at the creativity, vision, and process it takes to put together a film such as this. And as a fan of Tolkein, I love getting the opportunity to step into Middle Earth on the big screen. Thank you, thank you! Can’t wait to see Desolation of Smaug!

  11. I just wanted to thank all of you for your work, it is incredible I’m so happy someone dared to adapt those books to the cinema.
I read The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings and was never disappointed by what you did. Thank you again.

  12. ForcedCritic says:

Mr. Jackson, thank you for once again blowing our minds! I just saw The Desolation of Smaug and am truly speechless. It’s directors like you who are true innovators of film pushing the arts forward. I saw it in Dolby Atmos, RealD, HFR format with real D Oakley glasses!

You guys really worked hard to make this movie and i just wanted to thank you. I did not want it to end and wish I was still in the theatre now watching Bilbo and Smaug go at it. Thank your for your all your hard work. All your hard work worth and all endless days and nights you spent making this amazing motion picture a reality are greatly appreciated.

Also – thank you for completely schooling and shamming 99% of Hollywood feature film directors out there. Directors like Christopher Nolan and Zack Snyder really need watch this movie so they can learn exactly what it takes to be labeled a True “Master of “Film” not celluloid!

I cannot wait till next December and only hope you continue to make more ground breaking movies like this.

    HAPPY HOLIDAYS.

    P.S.
I STILL CAN’T WRAP MY HEAD AROUND THAT BARELL SCENE… I’M STILL BLOWN AWAY AT WHY MY EYES SAW!

    • Amazeballs.love love loved it. My husband and I went last night. We are both 62.if anyone has arachnophonia then don’t go. We watched it at imax in Bradford and they are ginormous in your face.

Loved the voice of smaug, benedict.loved the gold cavern snd smaug, the scenery was magnificent. The hobbit Martin freeman was well cast too.

please tell me where is Gandalf? Ian McKellen is brilliant.

How come Smaug could fly with all that gold inside him?

      Cant wait for next one!!!!

  13. BEST MOVIE EVER!!!!!!!!:D Love tauriel and everyone!:) Well done once again Peter! I expected nothing less and this even beat my expectations:D I loved it and look forward to watching it again and again:D Thank you so much!:D You are my inspiration as a future movie director myself!:D

  14. Greetings , I am an academic artist who has recently watched the latest of the Hobbit trilogy Desolation of Smaug.
I’ve noticed aestetic differences between all of the sequels and would like to know if there have been some changes in production (team) because all four parts were aestetically similar and produced in the same quality but the latest Hobbit was disappointing.
I would urge you politely not to repeat this in the third sequel.

    Thank you

    • try better counseling and re focus of the real you, than projecting your unexpressed anger to others you may envy.with respect
