I LOVE THIS SONG!!!! PLEASE make it be on iTunes soon!! I love it sooo much I love the folk part of it. It is sooo cool! I can’t wait!!! I will memorize this song and then sing it at the top of my lungs when the credits go by when I watch the movie!!!

Did you all listen to the same song I did? It was horrible! Please do not put this song in the movie, Peter Jackson. It is completely un-middle earth sounding.

I prefer the BBC’s version that went with their radio production of the Hobbit. It was awful in all other ways, badly acted , poor production but the song was excellent, very medieval and weird!
I’m with Aragorn. The song is bad.
I would agree if it were going to be in the actual movie, but it is going to be the credits song… nothing like a pop song to jar you back to reality after an epic movie.
Compare it with the other songs. May it Be, Gollum Song, Into the West, all of them were written for the same function. This new one doesn’t compare. Also, this is the one thing I’ve seen fans not like on this blog, which means that everyone WANTS to like it, but it seems only half of us really do like the song.
I concede that it is not nearly as awesome as the precedent credit songs. I think I am wearing rose tinted glasses due to my extreme excitement concerning this movie.
What was that??? I am pretty sure I clicked on the link, and some sound came out of the speakers like a cat squealing after it has been run over. Over and over again. The song was not for me, and I would not like to hear it in the movie. It also had part of the ‘misty mountain’ song, which was in the movie trailer. But it was ruined in this song… Not for me. Others may like it, and they are entitled to their opinions, however wrong they may be

Just be glad it isn’t actually in the movie!! It is only in for the credits! Some bits are good (I mean the music, not the singing.) makes it sound a bit better.
Kyryll thw song is in the movie. The dwarves sing it. I agree with Aragorn, when reading the book you dont picture a tenor singing this song you picture the deep basses of the dwarves like in the movie. THe song was song to inspire you to want to go on an adventure as it did Bilbo not put you to sleep.

It doesn’t even come close to having a “hobbitish” feeling to it. I can kind of (not quite) picture the dwarfs singing this, but even then (IMO) it doesn’t fit.
I sure hope this isn’t an indication of what the movie is going to be like.

Loved the song, though it should have been done in a bass voice as there probably aren’t alot of dwarven tenors.
I don’t love this song and I agree with sij, saying that it doesn’t feel “hobbitish.” I don’t want this in the movie.

I won the game because it was so ‘expressive’ 
I proper went for it! It was soooooo cool! (first thing I said: NNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!! MY PRECIOUS IS LOST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Then screamed in a gollum voice at people saying things like they stole my precious and how we hates the nasty little hobbitis and how we want the precious and want to kill fat hobbit)

I like Neil Finn but this is just not good. It is too much Chris De Burgh and not enough Enya/Annie Lennox/Emilia Tiffoli.

This song… it’s beautiful. Doesn’t quite match ‘Into the West’ but still – stunning.
I agree I think that It is like dwarves but not into the west…..
The song is ok, for the last part of the end credits, It doesn’t have the power of a real epic song, songs that you feel inside you. This one is, as mentioned in the article, a pop-ish version for the end credits. But overall, I like it, I find the tribal vocals in the background interesting, though I really dislike the lead voice…give me more penetrating voices!

will you release a version of the company (actors) singing the book’s lyrics (same as in the movie, only more, the movie had only two stanzas) of the song of the lonely mountain and that’s what bilbo baggins hates?
i really enjoyed the movie’s songs, but don’t really like this version (neil finn’s)
